Original watercolour painting on paper 42 × 42 cm framed Framed behind glass in a raw oak box frame
The Suburban Jungle is a colourful celebration of the birds and plants that make our everyday gardens so interesting.
A curious magpie sits amongst a tangle of flowers and foliage, surrounded by soft coral pinks, deep burgundies, fresh greens and touches of inky blue.
Loose washes of watercolour and more detailed marks come together in a relaxed, slightly chaotic composition. Some elements are clearly defined, while others are left to the imagination, giving the painting a lovely sense of movement and spontaneity.
Inspired by the familiar beauty of Australian suburban gardens, The Suburban Jungle is a playful take on a traditional botanical painting, bringing colour and a little personality to any space.
Presented behind glass with a white mount in a raw oak box frame.
