About Floriosa

Floriosa is the botanical painting practice of Sydney artist Sally Browne, creating original artworks and limited edition prints inspired by Australian flora and birdlife.

Originally from the UK, Browne studied art and surface pattern design before travelling through South East Asia and eventually settling in Sydney more than 30 years ago. She later spent 15 years working as an art director in branding before returning to painting full time.

Living in Sydney, Browne is surrounded by the distinctive forms of Australian plant life and the birdlife that animates it — gum leaves, flowering natives, tangled climbers and the colourful birds that move through them. Daily walks and quiet observations of the natural world often become the starting point for her work.

Rather than strict botanical illustration, Floriosa paintings sit somewhere between observation and interpretation. Twisting stems, tangled leaves and native birds are simplified into loose compositions that capture the movement, colour and spirit of the landscape.

Each original painting is created by hand in Browne’s Sydney studio. Limited edition prints are produced from high-resolution scans of the original artwork and printed on premium archival paper to preserve the colour and detail of the work. These archival botanical wall art prints and Australian bird prints are released in small editions so that each piece retains a sense of rarity and collectability.

Sally Browne has worked as a professional artist for more than 15 years, with collectors across Australia and internationally.

Floriosa artworks are designed to bring colour, calm and a connection to the Australian natural world into everyday spaces — nature-inspired wall art celebrating Australian flora and birdlife.
