A Meeting of Petals moves loosely between floral still life and abstraction. Soft pink provides a quiet backdrop for deep greens, inky blues, white and flashes of magenta and ochre, with each form painted intuitively rather than precisely described.
There is a sense of things being slightly rearranged from reality: flowers becoming shapes, leaves becoming gestures, and the whole composition hovering somewhere between a bouquet and an imagined garden.
